For the discerning legal-aged Rolla resident, deciding on which beer to drink can be a hard decision. Most uninformed drinkers have the naïve opinion that beer is gross or tasteless. That’s because they have not sampled the delights of the following beers. I possess this knowledge because I’m sampling them right now! I love tall boys!
If you don’t have Rock Band, you are missing out. If you do have it, you know that the band Freezepop does not belong there. Here are songs that should be included instead. First, Incubus’ "Megalomaniac" would have a great intro, and would be fun to play on all the instruments. "Song 2" by Blur would be great simply for saying "woo-hoo" over and over. I know that Modest Mouse will be in both Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero 4, but I want to play and hear a song that isn’t "Float On." Perhaps Dashboard, which has some fun riffs and some cool lyrics, would be a good pick. Also, I have no idea why 311 has yet to pop up anywhere. Hundreds of songs are in Rock Band, and "Amber" has not yet made it into the playlist. "Come Original" and "Love Song" by 311 would have also been amazing picks. Authority Zero would make for some fun times, though the vocals would be difficult. I am also wondering why there is not a track pack for Rage Against the Machine. Lastly, "Stacy’s Mom" by Fountains of Wayne would make a great party song. Everybody already loves singing to it and hates hearing it. It would be perfect for the game.
It is the time of year when you stop waking up an hour early to get to your job; no more khakis and collared shirts. You have also left your summer bars to come back to Rolla, and are starting to realize just what you had forgotten. During the summer you always had something to do on the weekends; now they are going to revolve around projects. Dinner will become the meal that interrupts homework, and you will now carry a graphing calculator at all times, just in case. Knowing this, I have compiled a list of great songs and bands that should get you in the mood for school again.
