When Kid Rock said “I want to be a cowboy baby” that made me regret all of my dreams of being a cowboy. That was until I started to watch the AFI top 100 list, I saw that a John Wayne movie on the list. As a “warm up” I started with a movie called “The Cowboys”, which was recommended by my great grandmother. Needless to say this movie won me over.

It is about a rancher whose hands leave for a gold rush when his cattle need to get to market. This means that the only ablebodied men in the area are school age boys. This is a great movie in every aspect: it has a good plot, teaches good morals, and it fulfills every dream of a kindergarten boy (and me). So if you are bored and have so time to watch a great movie, watch “The Cowboys”. And I would also recommend watching this with a lady friend because it can tend to be a tearjerker - if you are watching it with a woman that likes horses or John Wayne with his masculine physique.
