3)Resident Evil 5 (PS3,Xbox360)
If any of you have downloaded the demo to RE5, you can already see that it could be a contender for GOTY 2009.  The scene changes from the rustic Hispanic village of RE4 to the slums of Africa in RE5 and boy, does it look amazing!  Controls and gameplay are similar to that of RE4, with the exception of you co-oping as Chris Redfield with your newest she-hottie “Sheva”, who can either be controlled by a friend (off and on-line) or if you don’t have any friends, the computer (who to many of you qualifies as your girlfriend).

2) Killzone 2 (PS3)
The only game more vivid then my daydreams of Tina Fey, KZ2 is one of the most graphically intense games I’ve ever seen!  Placing you on a desolate planet, you fight your way through a Nazi-esque army of gas mask toting Helghan, as you once and for all take down this empire.  Perhaps one of the more unique things it sports is the cover system from 3rd person.  Online play is a must, sporting new innovations in multiplayer (such as the cloaking system for snipers and saboteurs).  From playing through the downloadable demo, I can say that this game will be a must have for all PS3 owners.
1) Empire: Total War (PC)
The coup-de-grace: the game I have been waiting for since the last heralded game in the series Medieval II.  It still is one of the only RTS’ that will allow you to control THOUSANDS of units at a time, in ultra-realistic battles.  This time around it sports a brand new engine which has led to a major overhaul in graphics.  Judging at how well the last game looked, I can only wonder how much of a mind orgasm this will be!  Also for the first time the game will include online play and the ability to control naval battles.  I anticipate spending lots of time “re-writing” the British annihilation of America in the War for Independence.
